This course is focused on tips and strategies for teaching reading, writing and mathematics in KS1, in light of the end of KS1 assessments.
A separate course for standardisation and moderation will follow in the spring term
This training will be led by Shareen Mayers (primary English adviser and new moderation manager for Lambeth LA) and Steph King (primary mathematics adviser and author). Feedback from this training in the past has been 100% excellent and both have extensive experience of delivering assessment training.
This course is suitable for new and experienced teachers because it draws on the latest KS1 assessments/tests and provides implications for teaching, as well as some practical activities. It is also updated annually to ensure it brings schools the very latest information.
A full day workshop focusing on:
- subject knowledge and pitch for year 2;
- analysis of the 2019 KS! reading and mathematics tests and implications for schools;
- tips and strategies for teaching writing;
- implications and strategies for teaching to ensure pupils meet the expected standard.
Feedback from the first KS1 course was 100% positive, so we are also offering more schools a chance to attend this training.
