Raising awareness and improving professional expertise in schools

Outline

  • Understand why change can be challenging for children and young people with autism.
  • Prepare children and young people for a range of changes in their lives.
  • Allow participants time to reflect on their own classroom practice.
  • Resource pack for each participant.

This workshop considers how important transitions and changes are for children on the autism spectrum. From finishing one task and beginning a new one, to preparing for puberty, this area is both complex and varied. We will endeavour to cover many angles and share experiences and good practice.
